With somewhat older amplifiers, a phono input is usually still available.
Nowadays it is used less and less, so it would be useful if the input could be used as a line input. That's what happens with this circuit: The circuit is actually an attenuator and a filter. The signal is attenuated to the level of a phono pickup, and filtered so as to undo the RIAA correction in the amplifier. On 'in' comes the line signal, and 'out' is connected to the phono input of the amplifier. |
